
The Fort Scott Preschool Center will have Preschool Round-Up on Friday, May 5th from 8:00-3:30 for all children who are 3 or 4 years old on August 31, 2023. Call Tammy at (620) 223-8965 to schedule an appointment. Students currently enrolled at FSPC will not need to attend Round-Up.


National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special observance during the first week of March celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives kids a great start every day.

What to Bring: Your child's Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, Immunization Records and a Physical
Your student must be 5 years old before September 1st to attend Round-Up. Please call the Winfield Scott Office at 620-223-0450 to schedule an appointment.


No school on Friday, March 3rd, for USD 234 students.

Save the Date!! Fort Scott Preschool Center is excited to host this year's Early Childhood Spring Fling on Thursday, April 6th from 5:30-7:00! All children (birth-6 years old) and their families are invited to join us for activities, games, prizes, and resources from community organizations. We want to give a big thanks to the Fort Scott Area Community Foundation for helping make this event possible!


Preschool Parents/Guardians- This Wednesday (3/1) is an early release day. AM classes will follow the normal schedule, but there will be NO PM classes. Friday, (3/3) is a work/planning day. There will be no preschool classes Friday.

Preschool Parents/Guardians:
We will have Spring pictures taken Monday, February 27th for students at the preschool building on Judson Street and Tuesday, February 28th for students in our classroom at Happy Kids. Order forms will not be sent out ahead of time, instead proofs and ordering information will be sent home at a later date.

Mrs. Webb's classes worked hard this week while learning about machines and construction!






Mrs. Hurd's classes finished the week with one of their favorite activities- centers!






Mrs. Heckman's classes had a fun week celebrating Valentine's Day and building houses for the three little pigs!











Reminder - No School on Monday, February 20th. All buildings, including the Board of Education will be closed.


Last night the USD 234 Board approved the following calendar, pending negotiations, for the 2023-24 school year. We appreciate the input from our staff, parents, and families as this calendar was put together.

2/7/2023 Adalyn received the Kindness Heart Award for sharing her "Brain Up" toy with her friend Paityn. They both enjoyed taking turns doing the gears and levers. That was so kind of her!

1/26/23Sydni received a Kindness Heart Award for waiting her turn for the sand table. Then she helped a friend with her apron. Way to go, Sydni!!!


Help Us Welcome Tonya Barnes - Special Education Director
Tonya Barnes will be joining our Tiger family on July 1st as the Special Education Director for the district.
