Transportation Department

Fort Scott’s Transportation Team considers it an honor to transport our community’s students to and from school and various daily activities.

“Bus drivers can really have a positive influence on our kids, and they’re often overlooked even though their role is so integral to the school day,” says Mr. Allen, Transportation Director. “Often, we’re the first to greet kids in the morning and the last to tell them goodbye in the afternoon. That impact adds up, and we’re grateful we get to contribute to students’ lives in that way each day.”

The Transportation Team takes the responsibility of their work with the utmost seriousness: safety is their top priority. Together, they work to maintain an excellent record of on-the-road safety while also working to ensure our bus cabins as safe and pleasant as possible with the help of our bus monitors.

Our Bus Drivers attend monthly safety meetings each month, and each completes CPR and Defensive Driving Courses every two years. Background checks on all drivers and bus monitors are also mandatory for employment.

Thank you, Transportation Team, for all you do to keep our kids safe and on the move each day!
