About Our Technology Director
Stephen Mitchell, Director of Technology for Fort Scott Schools, began serving USD 234 over a decade ago, and there’s no end in sight for him.
“I love the team I work with and the staff and students we serve,” said Mr. Mitchell. “We enjoy helping make their lives easier by supplying and maintaining the technologies they need to be successful.”
Working in the IT Department is no simple job, however - Mr. Mitchell says his team often works around the clock to resolve issues before they become a problem for students and staff. He says they’re glad to do it though, and always strive to maintain a “Here to Help” attitude when tackling challenges or communicating with system users.
When he’s not managing USD 234’s Data Center, you’ll find Mr. Mitchell spending time with his wife and son or working in his shop on his truck or vintage tractors.
“I was born and raised here in Fort Scott, and I truly love it,” said Mr. Mitchell. “There’s a kindness and level of connection in this community that you can’t find everywhere.”
